I heard and decoded F1VJT/B transmitting on 10m (28322 kHz) at about 1655 UTC on 30 July 2009.
I
have visited your QRZ.com page. Amazing little piece of kit, and
excellent in checking if the bands are open or there is e-sporadic :
My
location is IO91US, near St. Albans, Hertfordshire, UK. I am using a
home made vertical antenna with tuned counterpoise / radials. According
to the maps, I am 1076.5 km from you.

08:50gmt 529 via Es until 09:20gmt qsb into the noise. my station Icom706mk2 antenna zx 6m yagi at 6m over the ground. ASL
120M on a 7m mast, mast used on rx
only.

Dear Mr. Sciortino, The reason for writing to
you is that I managed for the first time to receive your HF
Beacon here in Geneva(my location is about 800 m from the
Geneva Airport) and I thought that may be some interesting news
to you. I can give the following items about my receiving your
Station:

I understood
your CW message as follows: "VVV DE F1VJT/B JN33 K". The
message was followed by a dash (~ 15 seconds). I am using a DSP
(NRD-545) receiver with an active (exterior) antenna in the
garden. Concluding once again let me express my pleasure
because of having been able to receive your Station here in
Switzerland and I kindly ask you to confirm that my report is
correct and that it really was your HF Beacon F1VJT/B from
Hyeres I had the pleasure to listen to.
I wonder about power and antenna used?
Did you already receive any reports from Geneva or
Switzerland?
(No problem for me to send SAE and return postage for the QSL
card, just let me know).

Good morning Alberto,
I'll write to you in english but I suppose that italian
language would be fine with you... let me know. ... So, this
morning I'm receiving your beacon in JN65DL loud & clear,
very beautiful signal. Listen the attached file, but during the
morning the signal went up much more clear.

All the system is at my home and sometimes (it's experimental)
it would be unreachable due to technical & WX problems.

I could receive your beacon last afternoon with poor signals.
I’m very glad about this
reception, your station is listed with 1 Watt. I looked up for
beacons on 28322,5 kHz. I could see your station in spectrum
The conditions to France were good this afternoon send you a
reception report. Here are the details:
Date : May, 30th ,2009 Time: 13:03 – 13:10 UTC
Frequency : 2 8 3 2 2,5 kHz
Some technical remarks: I had poor /middle signals without
interferences fading was easy O=2 Athmosferic jumming easy RST

very pleased to hear the transmission of your F1VJT beacon. My
field is mainly bc-DXing and utility-DXing (coastal stations,
meteo transmissons, aero, military and ND-beacons), but
sometime I send out some reports to Ham-stations. I am 55 years
old. My QTH is Arndsorf near Dresden, Germany. Grid JO61XC. I

Hello Alberto,
I heared your beacon on 17.05.09 15:00 GMT on 28.323 MHz with
529. My rig is an Alinco DX-77 and a Outback 1899 mobile
antenna on the balcony. My antenna is very similar to your
setup... I was amazaed to hear a beacon outside the "classical"
beacon band of 28.200 - 28.300. This day, there was a fantastic
sporadic-E opening on 10 m.
My qth is in southern Germany in Kempten, JN57DR.

Beacon 10m a
28.322.8 MHz in JN33BC:

Thisis a simple 10 meter beacon based on a TTL
oscillator and one PIC 16F84.
The first version was very simple, the oscillator
exciting directly the antenna by one relay : one great problem, the TTL
oscillator are rich in harmonics, I mesured strongs signals in
aviations,military and professional VHF band…not very good,my location
is near the airport and I wouldn’t create interference.
This version is made to offer more power without
harmonics.
I find an old Ericcson pager in 11 meter band,I take
only the PA module with the Xtal oscillator,I removed the original
Xo,the 2nd power module and it’s all !
The CW generator is with a 16F84 PIC,the original
shematic is from IK0WRB (Thank you!).
The original version working on 26.685 MHz with 5..7
Watt.
Three years ago receive 511 from USA with the first
beacon (10 mW),one OM wrote me an e-mail with the signal report and his
working conditions….Great !
I think is not necessary more power,in E-sporadic
condition,the 10 meter band is fantastic.
In the photos can you see the beacon,I mesured 0.8 Watt
in a dummy load,antenna are loaded ant the coaxial line are very
short,about 40 centimetres.
Now the harmonics are very weak,the power module is
filtered and a good sinusoidal signal out.
It working 24/24,it’s powered by a 12Volt 7 A/h gel
battery,I remplace when discharged.
The installation is in my appartements,I live at the
last floor an the « «no gain antenna » is in my balcony.
My location is JN33BC,my city is Hyeres,in the south
east part of France.
